GLOBAL BATTLE OF THE BANDS:
The Canberra Heat of the Global battle of the bands is on again at the Basement, its coming up again on friday 19th Oct and you can enter by checking out the website of the promotors HERE. In a nutshell, each band will be playing three orginal songs and if you choose to play you'll be provided with a backline to boot. There is an entry fee ($33 per person in each band) but hey, ya gotta be in it to win it!
THere's global prize pool of over a $100000 and if you win you get a world tour!

Hope you all like the new layout of the website... just a quick heads up about some huge gigs coming up .... first up this week (friday 28th) is the ACDC tribute band accadacca this is attracting a lot of interest so either come early or book (at the bar or moshtix) and our Halloween show featuring 6 of the best metal / hard rock bands the capital has to offer on Nov 3rd and followed up by Aussie metal legends LORD returning to canberra on the 30th of NOV....

MAY 2007:
Big news for the month is that the basement has won the "Jack Awards" for the "best live venue in the ACT"!! Whoo Hoo!
Just got a few pics from Jamie and Kell, so I posted them up in the pics section, if any other folk out there have any they'd like to share with the world email to me!
Also just pilfered a bunch of gigs from the basement "myspace" site,,,, I was just at the bloody pub half an hour ago and forgot to get the new gig listing...but anyway check it out at the gig page!
MARCH 2007: Well we've got our own happy hour now which runs from TUESDAYS thru FRIDAYS from 5pm-7pm and SATURDAYS 2pm-5pm so come along and make the most of it!
FEB 2007: new gigs added for the month, and stay tuned for an update on INDYFEST one of canberra's most exciting celebtrations of independant music in canberra, and its happening at the basement of course!
