MAY 2008:
It all keeps happening for the addict! All seems to be going well with the digital music distribution, infact we've even scored some trial offers, where you can sign up to emusic.com for free and download our stuff... go on check it out and let us know what you think!
We've also been playing some killer shows with Temtris and Herratik of late, the reactions have been inspiring and the crowds getting ever bigger, we're on next at the basement with Sin City on the 30th of May, hope to see you down there!
JAN 2008:
Another long wait between updates, but some good stuff has been happening, as always the gigs keep rolling in, but main news is a deal we've signed with distro label "amphead" to distribute out music across the internet has started to work out great. Some recent trolling has even found the EP launched at bothe the orchard site and the Napster site for streaming and download! (Just use the search features and you should be able to find them) Go on check it out and help support your fave music!
AUGUST 2007:
Well, its been a while since our last update, we've been hard at work with the new album and its mostly done from a recording point of veiw. Just gotta put the finishing touches on some drums and then the mixing and mastering parts. Its already sounding killer and we're sure once finished it will blow you all away!
We're playing live this month with SOBRUSION and MURDERWORLD on the 11th August at the basement so come along and see how the new material is sounding!

MARCH 2007:
Hey guys looks like we're back in the studio again real soon with a whole new batch of songs to record.... so things are gonna be a little quiet for the next few months but we've got one show with REIGN OF TERROR and HERRATIK from sydney on at the basement on the 27th APRIL so get your badselves along to that one!

JANUARY 2007:
As the year heats up for gig action system addict are gettin' into it big time with 2 gigs at the basement, the first being the SOBRUSION CD launch, they're a great Power metal type band from wagga featuring a couple of members from Jennifer will drown which is happening on Friday 19th of Jan, and then again with our long time buddies Reign of Terror and Sindablok on the 27th with another as yet unnamed opening band. so stay tuned! Oh yeah, and thanks everyone that turned up to the chrissy jam with us and made it a success, looks like we'll be doing this again for sure!
XMAS JAM 2006:
If you're up for an xmas piss on sunday arvo (10th Dec), we're on at the basement with Reign of Terror, its our way of saying thanks to everyone thats supported the band by either booking shows, buying a disc or just turning up to a show, so the entry is FREE and so is the bbq if you get there early enought! All the fun starts at 12:30 and bands kick off from 2pm until 5pm, so you can still front up to work on monday!

Thanks for all who made it out the friday 13th show at the Basement, it was truely rippin, good to see so many of you out there! THe Bolj-ster really cemented his place in the band, and we'll get some pics soon no doubt! Our next show is on at the Holy Grail (in Civic) on the 11th Nov so make sure you turn up and make it another memorable night!

This week is System Addicts first gig with new bass player James Boljkovic .... its all happening at the Basement this friday (13th Oct) with Reign of Terror, Pod People and Machette... be there and witness the heaviness that Bolj provides on the lower end for yourselves!

UPDATE:01/09/2006:Well, the search for a new bass player is over and we're proud to announce that the new bottom end of System Addict is none other than James who played bass for Bolj! This will add some much needed heaviness to our sound as well as confusing everyone with the fact there will now be two james' in the band! Look out for us hitting the live circuit in the next couple of months!

UPDATE:04/06/2006: Bass player Greg is leaving the band, the split is amicable and Greg will continue playing with us until we find a suitable replacement, which opens the door for anyone out there who would like a shot at playing bass for us to contact Jamie on 0418398556. Before you ring though we are looking for someone that has not only reasonable bass playing skills but also transport, decent gear and the available time to committ to a working band.
UPDATE:30/05/2006: We're playing this week on saturday night with 20 grams from Sydney also there will be Jennifer will drown and Reign of Terror for a huge night of '80's styled heavy metal!
UPDATE:20/03/2006: Ok, the big news is that the new CD is finally done and is sitting in our hot little hands right now! They will be on sale at our next lot of gigs coming up in the next few weeks for a measley $10 so make sure you all pile out there and buy one of these things ... you will not be disappointed!
Also, our scheduled CD launch will not be happening at the HOLY GRAIL, as previously advertised. It will be on the 8th April at the LIGHTHOUSE in belconnen, so get your asses out there!

UPDATE: 11/01/2006: Welcome to another system addict year! We've finished recording our new 6 track EP which is to be released early March, and we'll be launching at the Holy Grail on the 11th of March. We've also made available our first ever recording "System Addict - Live at the Ape" for download from this site. It should provide you with a good indication of what to expect from our new recording, only the new one will knock your socks off! We recorded this on the 11th July 2004 when the band was only 3 months old, it includes a version of Alanis Morrisettes "Uninvited" .... Hope you like.

With the combined energies of Jamie on vocals, Greg on Bass, Pat on lead guitar and new recruit Harley on Drums they have acheieved just that.
Their explosive set at the Rock Ape finale, cemented them a place amongst the heirarchy of the Canberra hard rock / metal scene with just one gig to a packed house that lapped up every note
System Addict are gearing up to record their debut album, but for now those interested will have to listen to the "Live at Rock Ape" Demo CD they recorded one sunday afternoon at the ape with a few friends and a few beers
